26 SEP 2026
Ultra Viking 60 km, Amsterdam
53 km completed. Stopped at the time cutoff before the final 7 km. €200 raised for Kom op tegen Kanker.
The story
One challenge. A much bigger reason.
On 26 September 2026, I took part in the 60 km Ultra Viking in Amsterdam in support of Kom op tegen Kanker. I covered 53 km before the time cutoff prevented me from starting the final 7 km. I did not finish the full course or receive a medal.
Through this run, I raised €200 for Kom op tegen Kanker. Thank you to everyone who contributed and supported the cause.
An honest result. Lessons to carry forward.
This was not the finish I wanted, but it was a major learning experience. Consistent preparation, a practised fuelling plan and realistic pacing deserve as much attention as the ambition itself. I am taking those lessons into the next build, one step at a time. The purpose remains supporting Kom op tegen Kanker.
Video report in preparation
I am preparing an honest video about the day and what I learned. It will be added here when it is ready.
